Lake Havasu, Arizona (September 23, 2015) - National and Division 1 points tighten as the season nears its end embarking on number eight of a nine-race schedule under the banner of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series, the points are seriously tightning in several of its classes. A National Series and Division 1 points event, the Anderson Toyota Scion Thunder On The River In Lake Havasu City scheduled for October 2-4, 2015 may very well hold the key to many competitors’ Championship hopes as the season edges closer to the finale at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Arizona in November. This will be an event you will not want to miss.
Although the MAV TV Spirit Of Texas Top Fuel Hydro team has all but formally been crowned the Top Fuel Cham-pion for the second consecutive year, the race for the Runner Up honors is going to be one to watch as Bryan Sanders works to maintain the number two spot for the General Tire Nitrochondriac while Jarrett Silvey and the Lucas Oil-sponsored Speed Sports continues to gain momentum.
Randy Ball and the Oklahoman team comes into the Thunder On The Riv-er with a hefty lead with 2,573 points, but again, the race for 2nd Place between Bill Miller and Don Bausher is certainly one to watch, as both are within 78 points of one another.
There is a 4-way race in Pro Mod between Randy Benson, Marty Logan, Jimmy Booher and Shawn Reed. Benson currently leads with 2,682 points, but Marty Logan trails by a slim 82 points and Jimmy Booher is in the hunt with 2,512 points. And don’t ever count out Shawn Reed, who is just 3 rounds out of 1st place with 2,410 points!
Pro Outlaw also has a 4-way race between Shannon Beal, Robert Leas, Jim Richards and Travis Tutle. Shannon comes into Havasu in the number one spot with 2,578 points but Robert Leas trails by only 6 points and Jim Richards and Travis Tutle are both within two rounds of taking either first or second place.
In the quest for the Division 1 Championship title, Rick Barretta leads the Quick Eliminator pack with 1,336 points while Arek Strohmenger trails by just 80 points and Mike DeClark is also in the mix, as he is only two rounds out of the number one spot. In Top Eliminator, Jeff Vail leads with 1,882 points but look out for Garrett Breistig, who trails by just 198 points. And in River Racer it is anyones game as num-ber 4, Scott Dolezal is a slim two rounds out of first place. Randy Melvin leads coming into Havasu with 1,520 points while Mike Beierle is currently 2nd with 1,440 and Kaylyn Funk is 3rd with 1,350 points.
The Thunder On The River spectator area is located in Lake Havasu’s Rotary Park, a 40 acre beach/park centrally located and easily accessible from Arizo-na’s State Highway 95.
